Two Arrests Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
